Cain Park Theatre, Cleveland, OH - Sang leading roles in "Vagabond
King", Where's Charlie?", "Of Thee I Sing"
1959-61: Soloist at Wise Temple, Wyoming Presbyterian Church,
Cincinnati, OH
1961-62: Member of Roger Wagner Chorale and Mitzelfelt Chorale, Los
Angeles, CA
1964-72: Choir Director, Second Presbyterian Church, Lexington, KY.
1970-80: Charter member of Lexington Musical Theatre. Sang
leading roles in "Oklahoma"," Three-Penny Opera",
"The Grass Harp".
1967-1980: Performed with composer and balladeer, John Jacob Niles
at concerts nationwide. Collaborated with the composer in the
creation of the "Niles/Merton Song Cycle" which set 22 poems of
the monk Thomas Merton to music. Gave premiere performances of this
work at Bellarmine College, the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and
Lexington, KY.
1981: Edited, with Nancie Field, songs for "The Niles-Merton
Songs" for Mark Foster Music Company.
1993: Edited and selected eight songs for the popular collection, "The Songs
John Jacob Niles" for G. Schirmer, Inc.
1980-1994: Adjunct Professor of Voice, Eastern Kentucky University,
Richmond, KY.
2002: Authored, with co-writer Kerstin Warner, "A Journey with
John Jacob Niles" a memoir of the work with Johnnie. University of
Kentucky Libraries, Occasional Paper No. 13. This work includes a CD of
concerts and recitals during this period.
1964-Present: Voice teacher and coach. Former Students include:
Lydia Hodson, America's Junior Miss, 1972. Currently three of
Jackie's students are performing on Broadway, Laura Bundy in
"Hairspray", and the Schenck sisters, Joni and Megan in
"42nd Street. |
